Hand-pouring and hand-dipping candles from rendered beeswax: sizing wicks to the vessel, controlling pour and melt-pool temperatures, and tuning burn behaviour so the flame reaches a steady, tunnel-free state.

The Wick Was Never a Fuse, It Was a Pump

I rendered a tub of leftover honey cappings, dropped in a wick, and produced a candle with a navel that burned a hole straight down its own middle. Turns out wicks are pumps.
