Radio Occultation Meteor Detection

Passive radio detection of meteor trails by monitoring distant FM broadcast reflections. When meteors ionize the upper atmosphere, they create temporary mirrors that reflect VHF signals normally below the horizon. Listen for brief pings and chirps as meteors between 80-120 km altitude create fleeting radio paths lasting 0.1 to 2 seconds.
